If time permits, and there’s nothing better to do, why not spend it on YouTube? Everyone who’s anyone these days has a streaming account whether it be Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or even the newest Disney Plus. All have their merits, but every now and again it’s nice to watch content on a platform that is free to the masses. For now at least, Youtube still qualifies. Be that at as it may, Out of Shadows is currently streaming on Youtube at no charge and it is certainly a speculation of sorts. The new documentary has already accumulated roughly 10 million views on the site and has people across all of social media joining the conversation and adding their two cents.

So what is it about? Well, the answer isn’t so simple. That doesn’t mean that the documentary is without interest. The simplest way to lay it out is that it’s about Hollywood and the mainstream media, though it does seem to include a lot of other outside information that can sometimes seem unrelated. Still, let’s stick to the main themes and point of examination. The central idea is that those involved have pulled the veil back to show how Hollywood and major news networks have used their content to control the public through their filtering of information. Those involved claim to be “woke”, and have either experience working in the entertainment industry, news media, or even in the Central Intelligence Agency. With that in mind, delving into this does mean exploring hypotheses otherwise written off as “conspiracy theories”.
Leading the charge on this presumptuous undertaking is Hollywood stunt man Mike Smith. Smith has been involved in the industry for a long time and he does have the credentials to prove it. He’s done stunts for a variety of actors and films ranging from 90’s hits like Batman Forever, Independence Day, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Rush Hour to leading as a stunt coordinator for current millennium movies such as Charlies Angels, 21 & Over, Nightcrawler, and Roman J. Israel Esq. Needless to say, Smith has been around the block once or twice and has probably seen more than most movie goers have. Smith is credited as the director and also speaks most in Out of Shadows, providing the audience his personal working experience, being around the stars of the day, and things he has bared witness to during his time in Hollywood. Primary speakers also include stunt man Brad Martin and also former decorated CIA agent Kevin Shipp.
Now the documentary claims to focus mainly on Hollywood and mainstream media internal issues, but there’s much more information packed into this than initially anticipated. Subjects include prominent figures such as Hillary Clinton and her associates and the late Jeffrey Epstein. The CIA also more than gets its mention as well as the notorious ‘Pizza-gate’ theories that began circulating when Podesta’s emails were leaked to the public. Much of what is hinted on are alleged negative exploits and the idea behind Hollywood elites and media moguls using their platforms as tools to manipulate thought, the public’s actions, the economy, and higher institutions all for the sake of personal gain.
Much is assumed, a lot is based on anecdotal experience, and the rest is highly speculated hearsay. Quite a bit of this should leave the audience wondering how much of it is true, and if it’s true, how it has been done for so long with those involved getting away with it all. Logistically speaking, CIA retiree Kevin Shipp makes the strongest case due to his experience in the field, but should have viewers wondering why he would say these things if they weren’t true, and of course at what cost. Either way WOW is not here to take a side or a stance but only to commentate. The consensus here for readers to see it and come to their own conclusions. After all, it is free.
